Riding the Storm

Le Web 3 Summary

We are back from Paris after attending and presenting at the Le Web 3 conference. I don’t remember ever coming back from a conference with such mixed emotions.

On the one hand, 1000 people gathered outside Silicon Valley (!) to discuss the new Web and exchange views and ideas. Fifty companies, including MuseStorm, presented their products in the startup room. Many great people/geeks/entrepreneurs took the main stage and led great sessions. We got to finally meet, face to face, with some of our partners from Pageflakes, Snipperoo, and Weebly.

On the other hand the schedule changed every 5 minutes and sessions were rushed and hurried to make room for new sessions and politicians (yes, politicians). The startup room organization was terrible, the room looked like a Caribbean bar mockup from Las Vegas and we only got the rules for the presentation two days ahead of the presentation. The Wi-Fi did not work most of the time (this is a pain shared by all conferences).

Loic, who organized the conference made a huge effort and should be respected for this, but I think that next year he and the rest of the organizers should be more professional - people from 47 countries paid good money to attend the conference and should have gotten their money’s worth.
